Kaze

Type Sencha (?)
Name Kaze
Cultivar Benifuki
Producer
Country Aoi, Shizuoka, Japan
Vendor Cha Do Raku

Suggested Preparation Notes: 1 teaspoon per 200ml; 1st steep at 95 Celsius for 1 minute (I brewed the first steep a little colder, at 85 Celsius), 2nd steep at 95 Celsius for 45 seconds

Based on my own searches, Icho Kamairi is Roasted/Oxidised Green Tea. It reminds me a little of an oolong, but not quite. It has a lightly oxidised and floral aroma (very floral!), but by its astringent nature also reminds one of a sencha. The result is totally enchanting.

Review: 4/5 teacups
