Pippin

Born on the 7th of July 2023, Pippin is a 9 month old working-line Brittany spaniel puppy. He is an incredibly sweet pup, with unending (and inspiring) energy and motivation. He is coming around to urban living in a walk-up apartment in a very dense neighbourhood — Leif and I are so proud of all the effort he has put into acclimating to his new environment since he arrived in our home back in November. His curiosity, his goofiness, and his cuddliness are just wonderful. We are very attached to our Peregrine!

Since the beginning of the year, Pippin and I have explored the very beginnings of skijoring, canicross, rally O, and we’ve even begun learning the basics of agility at Guides Canins!

On the gundog front: I’m currently working through Jo Lauren’s Force-Free Gundog Training, as well as a retriever games online course from Focus Dogs, as Pippin and I have been working on his retriever skills this winter. Next, I really want to tackle his arrêt and stability skills in front of birds! We were working on a remote stop back in January, and I really want to get back to that as well. I’ve also not had the ability to really work on his recall lately, so that also needs work. So many skills to work on over and over, so little time!
